Since I am leaving Seattle soon I want to pack in as much fun as possible before I go. So to start off the festivities I’m going to a show each night for the next five days.

A couple of weeks ago while at a Patterson Hood show, I made up my mind to move back to Georgia. This is something I’ve been thinking about for awhile. In fact almost as soon as I arrived here. I just can’t deal with the people here, or the winters with no sun, or the seven to one single male to single female ratio. Plus I have lots of friends in Atlanta and I’ve lived there longer than anywhere else in my life. And as Anaïs said to me, “You have family here.” not in the blood sense but in every other way. At the end of October it will be a year since I’ve moved here, numerous people here have told me how people hate Seattle the first year but grow to love it by the second. That may be true but I figure why wait for something that might or might not happen when I know Atlanta will be a sure thing. True there are many things I don’t like about Atlanta but then again Seattle didn’t deliver on those shortcomings. I still think this is a great place to visit and I have made some good friends here but the time has come to move on.

Stopped smoking again a couple days ago. Hopefully it will stick this time, I haven’t been drinking either but I’m going to tonight. I need something to cut the edge and I think I can without smoking. More on this later….

Stolen burritos are great but they’re even better when someone else steals them for you.

Finished my second event poster recently. I can’t wait for the event, should be awesome.

You tell me what this says. Well looking at it again I think I might be able to make it out (hangover is starting to wear off). The important thing is I have my Dinosaur Jr. ticket. Their new album Beyond kicks some serious ass, you can listen to most of it on their Myspace page. Check out Pick Me Up, six minutes and thirty-two of pure audio bliss. Then get yo ass to Sonic Boom (if in Seattle) or Criminal (in ATL) and pick up a copy. Trust me you will be thanking me, unless you’re into Britney Spears and the like. If you are there’s still hope, maybe Dinosaur can turn you to the Darkside.

Red (unpleasant)

• Long ass plane ride with a two hour layover
• Good friends from Atlanta couldn’t make it
• Had two toes smashed with a football (walking funnier than usual now)
• Missed Flaming Lips show (will see them at Bonnaroo)

Blue (pleasant)

• Good friends live here
• Good friends from Connecticut came down
• Beach (yes a real beach with sand not rocks)
• Throwing a football around (with others)
• Sunlight (I had forgotten that it exists)
• Warm (a strange sensation, especially without rain)
• Shoulder workout (at the gym, get your mind out of the gutter)
• Better women to men ratio
• Aforementioned women scantily clad (yes I’m a pig but I have positive qualities too)
• Multiple tattoo compliments (to be fair I get these in Seattle too)

So Blue is winning by a wide margin and I do not see any possibility of Red pulling it off.
