I finished reading Burning Chrome on the plane during my recent Cary trip. It is a collection of short stories by one of my favorite authors William Gibson. Though I prefer his novels the stories were enjoyable. Some of them seemed a little unpolished but entertaining nonetheless. If you’ve never read any Gibson before I would start with his magnum opus Neuromancer, then move onto Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive. These three novels are unofficially considered the “Sprawl Trilogy” and I enjoyed each of them immensely.
BTW William Gibson is the author credited with pushing the envelope for the Cyberpunk genre. He also predicted many of the present aspects of the Internet and the movie The Matrix blatantly rips off many of his ideas (I still think The Matrix is a great film though).
now if I could only find my wiz…..
