Actually the title should be “Sensible Politician?”, I just wanted to get a dig in. A few weeks ago I was listening to the Commonwealth Club’s radio broadcast. The speaker for this particular show was Christine Todd Whitman. Normally I would have switched the channel but since I was in Alabama (don’t ask) my only other choices were country and religious stations. What I heard completely shocked me. She had very valid viewpoints and (gasp) I was actually agreeing with what she was saying. To paraphrase she thinks the Republican Party has been hijacked by “Social Fundamentalists” and only represent a small percentage of conservatives out there. I won’t recount the whole speech but I recommend hearing it for yourself.
I saw Incident at Ogala a few day ago. This movie was a real eye opener, it’s absolutely disgusting to see what our government did to Lenord Peltier. It shocked me to see how our justice system can function. I highly recommend watching this, it’s time we get our heads out of the sand.
