Message from the WWF (World Wildlife Fund not wrestling)

Dear Alex,

With the U.S. elections now history, there is renewed opportunity to engage the public and government leaders in serious debate over the policies and actions that affect the health of our living planet. Both successful and unsuccessful candidates shared a common message as the election season ended: “It is time to heal America. It is time to move beyond partisanship.”

WWF could not agree more.

There is nothing partisan about the need to protect the resources that sustain all life on earth. And there is no greater common cause than to address issues such as global warming or marine degradation that threaten people and nature on a planetary scale.

As always, WWF will use sound science and unmatched global reach as the foundation for bi-partisan policy solutions, innovative partnerships, and effective on-the ground responses to both environmental challenges and opportunities. I am confident that, working together with you and other supporters, we have the skills, experience, and determination not just to weather storms, but also to get the job done in the middle of them. Every day WWF works and succeeds in places around the globe that present daunting political, economic, and social obstacles.

WWF looks forward to reengaging with America’s political leaders to debate and reshape problem policies and to build on conservation successes. Our leaders will need to hear your collective voices. And they must understand our common motivation. We do not seek partisan advantage. We seek to save a living planet.
