Picked up True Love by Toots and the Maytals yesterday. This is a compilation CD between Toots and other music legends like Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson, Bootsy Collins and many more. See this link for the full list. Toots of course is a reggae legend. I’m embarrassed to say this is the first of his CDs I have purchased, you got to start somewhere though. I found out about this CD from Radio Paradise a month or two ago. They were playing “Still is Still Moving to Me”, I couldn’t believe Willie Nelson was singing reggae and it was sounded good! The CD went on my wish list and into my hands yesterday. This CD was made to turn people onto Toots who normally might not be exposed to him. It worked on me, to be honest though I was wanting to buy one of his traditional CDs instead but Best Buy didn’t have any. That’s ok though because this CD was a great buy. I was starting write what my favorite tracks were but it was too hard to pick, they are all great in my opinion. So if you like reggae pick it up, if you don’t like reggae pick it up, even if you don’t like music pick it up and give it to someone who does.

PS Check out Rachael Yamagata’s voice on “Blame on Me”, man talk about sexy!

I also bought Good News For People Who Love Bad News by Modest Mouse yesterday. I’ve only listened to it once as opposed to three times for Toots, so I’m not ready to review it yet. My first impression is good though, of course “Float On” kicks ass.
